Please join us for a fun day of (relatively advanced/ strenuous) kayaking and a picnic lunch in Jupiter (northern Palm Beach County). We'll paddle kayaks on the Loxahatchee River at Riverbend Park, guided by RPCV Bob Graulich (Malawi '64-'66, PC-HQ '71-'75, PCD Malaysia '75-'78) and his wife Scotty King.  We'll have a picnic lunch along the river (bring your lunch and a beverage in a cooler bag you can fit in your kayak).

Bring your own kayak or rental kayaks available from Canoe OutfittersIf you need to rent a kayak, please let Bob know by July 15, so that he can reserve the required number of kayaks, and be sure to let him know whether you want a single or tandem kayak.  Canoes are available as an alternative.  Bob can be reached at graulichrobert@gmail.com

Wear swim shoes or sandals for paddling, as you'll have your feet in the water a few times.  You can wear a swim suit if you want to swim or just regular shorts.  And, don't bring your phone or camera unless you have a dry/waterproof bag to keep it safe.

We will send more details to those who register (specific time and location to meet), and will try to help with carpooling.

THIS WILL BE A MORE CHALLENGING PART OF THE RIVER FOR KAYAKING so this event is not recommended for first-time kayakers.  (We'll be kayaking next month in Singer Island and that is a perfect spot for first-time kayakers - check out our calendar and please join us there: Kayaking - hiking - picnic on Singer Island.)
